I am responsible:

  • Administration of grant applications made my departmental staff; includes X5, liaising with sponsors, Research Group Leaders and Research Operations Office to achieve deadlines and improve the efficiency of grant submissions.
  • Management of Department of Oncology active grants within the Department; includes providing regular reports for the Research Group Leaders and ensuring reconciliation when grants end.
  • Communicating University financial procedures and funding opportunities throughout the department.
  • Managing internal and external audits, i.e. liaise with departmental accounts team, internal auditors, Research Council & EU auditors, Health & Safety auditors.
  • Management of the financial year end.
  • Responding to requests for financial data and information from internal and external sources.
  • Line management of the Senior Accounts Clerk.
