I work closely with the Department’s HR Administrators to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective HR services for the Department.  I also provide administrative support to facilitate the smooth operation of the Department’s central administrative team. My role involves:

HR administration:

  • Recruitment: Organising interviews, including preparing interview schedules, being first point of contact for interviewees, booking interview rooms, meeting and greeting interviewees, and checking 'Right to work' documents.
    • Staff inductions: Assist HR Administrators with all aspects of the induction process, including reviewing and updating Departmental induction packs, preparing induction packs for all new starters, drafting welcome emails for new starters on behalf of HR Administrators, and assisting with requests for Access Badges and University Cards.
    • Research passports: Assisting the HR Administrator with departmental Research Passport applications, including being first point of contact for Research Passport enquiries, liaising with the Clinical School and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to ensure efficient processing of applications, drafting online applications on behalf of applicants, and verification of applicants' ID and supporting documents.
    • HR processes: Assist with departmental HR business, including maintaining Departmental personnel files, recording staff leave, tracking and recording probationary reports and appraisals, drafting 'Invitation to consultation' letters on behalf of the Business and Operations Manager, organising Visitor Agreements, and archiving personnel documentation in accordance with departmental and University data protection procedures. 

    General Administration:

    • Provide general administrative support to: Departmental Business and Operations Manager, HR Administrators and Central Administration Team.
    • Central Administrative duties: Help ensure smooth running of the Central Administration Office, this includes monitoring and maintenance of office supplies, performing general administrative tasks (copying, scanning, filing and shredding), assisting with dissemination of information to all the Department’s sites, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, managing Departmental notice boards, and assisting with organisation of Departmental events.
