My job roles are:

Scientific Administration

  • Collation of departmental data for scientific reports, including Clinical School Biennial Review, National Institute for Health Research Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre Annual Report, annual Researchfish returns and Research England Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.
  • Departmental Open Access Champion; involves advising staff and students on complying with open access publishing policies and disseminating information from the University's Open Access Team.
  • Departmental Researchfish Node Administrator.
  • Departmental Research Data Champion

Postgraduate Administrator

  • Process all Postgraduate student applications.
  • Provide advice, information and support to Postgraduate students (prospective and current) and their Supervisors. Includes advising on visa applications & renewals; University Student Registry policies & procedures, such as how to register as a student supervisor, first year assessments for PhD registration, student reporting, intermissions and deferrals of thesis submission; and providing pastoral care for students.
  • Respond to requests for data and information from internal and external sources, e.g. the Student Registry, Higher Degrees Office, Postgraduate School of Life Sciences, Oncology Management Team, Postgraduate student supervisors, external Departmental Administrators, and current and prospective Postgraduate students.
  • Produce and maintain departmental Postgraduate student and Supervisor handbooks.
  • Maintenance of student personnel records, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Departmental Student Disability Liaison Officer. This involves attending meetings with the University's Disability Resource Centre, keeping abreast of changes in policies and providing advice and support to students with disabilities.

Webmaster 

  • Design and maintenance of the departmental website, ensuring compliance with University policies and guidelines.
  • Responding to website queries from both internal and external sources.
