The Department of Oncology is an academic department that sits within the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge.

Department of Oncology
The Department of Oncology provides all new staff members with an individual induction programme to welcome them into their role.
New employees are encouraged to take an active role in ensuring that their induction programme meets their needs effectively.
At the end of the induction programme, a new starter should:
- have met their key colleagues
- be able to find their way around their new workplace
- be aware of their local policies and procedures, e.g. for health and safety, IT, etc.
- have a clear understanding of the requirements and expectations of their role
- have identified any training and development needs in order for them to carry out their role
- have been given information about the School and University to allow them to understand the context of the department
- know what is expected of them and the way in which their work will be monitored
- understand their terms and conditions of employment.
